Sharon is a trial and appellate lawyer. Her practice is focused on the defense of doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice cases. Sharon is also a Registered Civil Mediator. She has been licensed in the States of Indiana and Illinois since 1997. She joined Spangler, Jennings & Dougherty in 1996 as a law clerk and is now a partner and shareholder with the firm. Sharon concentrates her practice in civil trial and appellate litigation. Her representation of healthcare providers in malpractice suits includes every phase of litigation from the Medical Review Panel process, through trial, and even appeals. She has argued in front of the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court. Her appellate work has resulted in opinions which have helped to define Indiana law. In 2005, Sharon completed the Indiana Civil Mediation training and is available to serve as a mediator in litigated cases. Sharon is an adjunct faculty member of Purdue University, Calumet, teaching Occupational Leadership and Supervision to undergraduate students. Sharon has been a speaker to local high school students regarding the legal profession and legal ethics. She has also been a speaker at legal education seminars involving legal ethics. She served on the Indiana State Bar Association Ethics Committee, Ethics 2000 Task Force, to revise the Indiana Rules of Professional Conduct.
