Born and raised in upstate NY, Shannon prepared for her career in media by graduating from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communications with a B.S in Television, Radio and Film. Shannon always knew she wanted to work in children's media and after college she gained that experience when she ventured off to Los Angeles. It was here that she worked at Nickelodeon Animation Studios and the Disney Channel.
While at Nickelodeon, Shannon was fortunate enough to work with an exceptional sound design team who taught her the ropes of casting, recording, editing and creating sound for animation. She then applied those skills when she landed a job as an audio and video editor for Disney Channel's New Media group.
After a great run in LA, Shannon missed home and hopped back to the East Coast. She found Boston was a hotbed for educational programming and media. In fact many years ago she met with the wonderful people at FableVision. They didn't have any openings at the time, but she never forgot the friendly faces and the amazing talent. She was determined to be back there someday.
A few days later, she did find a job as a Studio/Project Manager and audio editor at a recording studio in Boston that focused on educational products. Shannon was here for several years before settling down at Six Red Marbles, as a Project Manager. At Six Red Marbles she worked with clients such as Pearson Education, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill and McDougal Littell. She worked there for a couple of years until a former colleague told her about a great company called FableVision. Shannon couldn't have been more excited, afterall she remembered the company very well! She joined FableVision's ranks as a Project Manager, using her talents and experience to adeptly shepherd teams of artists, designers, sound folks, editors, and more, through some amazing projects for top clients.
Come summer, you'll find Shannon sailing and relaxing on the cape with her husband and amazing group of friends. She carries a chapstick in every coat and bag. Although on weekends she's an avid email checker, she'll more than likely have her nose in an interior design or cooking. In her waning years, she dreams of starting a children's bookstore down by Cape Cod so that she can read books 'til sunset with her own grandchildren. |
