Shane Swanson serves as Director of Compliance at ATD. Upon joining ATD, Swanson spent significant time on the trade desk, learning trading and ATD's systems from the ground up. He is responsible for the proper implementation of the ever-evolving trading rules into the increasingly complex systems developed at ATD. He is also actively involved in business development, contract negotiations, and public commentary on rule proposals, industry events, etc. Prior to joining ATD, Swanson was in private practice at Grimball & Cabaniss, LLC (1995-1997) and Buist, Moore, Smythe & McGee, LP (1997-1999). In 1992, Shane graduated from the University of South Carolina's Honors College, magna cum laude, with the degree of Baccalaureus Artium et Scientiae. In 1995, he earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina's School of Law, where he was also a member of the South Carolina Law Review, a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe, and a member of the Order of the Coif. Among other articles, Swanson's student note was published in the S.C. Law Review ("Court Further Examines Peremptory Strikes," 46 S.C.L.R. 112 (1994)). Shane is a member of the American Bar Association, the S.C. Bar Association, the Charleston County Bar Association, and is licensed to practice in the state, federal and the Supreme Courts of South Carolina. Shane also holds Series 4, 7, 63, 55, 24 and 27 licenses from the NASD. Mr. Swanson also holds a fifth degree black belt in the World Tae Kwon Do Association. |
