Selwyn J. Dias is director of regulatory services for AEP Ohio which serves approximately 1.4 million customers in Ohio and the northern panhandle of West Virginia. Dias' responsibilities include providing organizational leadership and technical direction on regulatory matters under the jurisdictional authority of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). He provides strategic direction for regulatory policy implementation state filing requirements and retail electric tariffs. Dias consults and advises executive management on matters affecting rates and regulation including Electric Service and Safety Standards promulgated by the PUCO. He is also responsible for economic development within AEP Ohio’s service territory with the goal of creating new jobs investment and tax revenue in the state of Ohio.
Dias began his career in Oklahoma City in 1981 as an international internal auditor for Kerr McGee Corporation. In 1985 Dias joined Central and South West Corporation (CSW) in Dallas as an internal auditor and progressed to a management level position within the auditing organization. During his tenure with CSW he held other leadership positions such as director of pricing development and director of regulatory administration. After the AEP/CSW merger Dias moved to Columbus to assume responsibility over AEP Ohio regulatory affairs.
Dias earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Central Oklahoma and completed the Executive Management Program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Dias is certified as an internal auditor from the Institute of Internal Auditors; a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors; and is a certified fraud examiner with the National Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. |
