Scott Hawrelechko is a native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Prior to embarking on the development of the USD $1.9 billion casino/resort in Tunica, Mississippi, USA, Mr. Hawrelechko successfully managed and operated his private general contracting business serving the commercial realty community in Edmonton for over 20 years. Scott’s entrepreneurial spirit, relentless persistence and uncommon vision are the driving forces behind the concept of a multi-dimensional entertainment/sports/leisure resort destination to be housed within the world first climate-controlled structure that is large enough to enclose a full size 18-hole golf course. To realize the concept, Mr. Hawrelechko located the necessary technologies. Then he assembled the finest talents in the gaming, entertaining and the hospitality industries to design, develop, construct and operate this world-class facility in Tunica. The Tunica resort and the organization behind the resort, are named Myriad to reflect the dynamic and endless possibilities that this development is representing.
Scott is the current President and CEO of Myriad Golf Resorts Inc., (a company incorporated in Alberta) and past CEO of Myriad Entertainment & Resorts, Inc. (a publicly traded Delaware corporation). Both of these affiliated Myriad companies provided the funding and expertise in supporting the development efforts of the Tunica resort.
Scott’s many interests include golf, tennis, hockey and piloting helicopters. His fascination with golf was the original impetus that motivated him to seek out a technology that would extend the short 6 month golf season in Edmonton. Scott is also an avid student of human psychology and has written a book entitled "How to Create a Craze - Turn Your Everyday Product or Service Into a Customer Obsession", a book which offers information and assistance to other early stage entrepreneurs.
