Scott Schaefer is Vice President of Development and Chief Technical Officer for Hutchinson Technology.. He is responsible for the overall technical direction of the company including product and process development and pre-production manufacturing. Schaefer joined the company in 1979 as a design engineer and has held various technical and management positions involving manufacturing product development and new business development. He became the company’s Engineering Director in 1985 and was appointed to Vice President in 1990.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio University and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Toledo. He is the past Chairman of the Executive Board of the National Storage Industry Consortium (NSIC). |
