Dr. D. Scott Buchanan was born in Abington, Pennsylvania March 19, 1958. In 1978, he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Physics from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This was followed by a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Illinois in 1983. He then did postdoctoral work at the ultra-low temperature laboratory at Los Alamos National Lab, Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Dr. Buchanan has been with 4-D Neuroimaging (4-D) since 1986 when he joined the company as a staff physicist. At 4-D, he has participated in all phases of system design from cryogenics to algorithm development. From 1993 to 1996, Dr. Buchanan was involved with managing the company as Vice President of Research and Development, and Vice President of Operations. In December of 1996, Dr. Buchanan was appointed as President and Chief Operating Officer, and in March of 1997 Dr. Buchanan took on the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of 4-D Neuroimaging. |
