Schacker Timothy Biography :

Timothy Schacker, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Associate Division Director. He joined the Division in September of 1996. Dr. Schacker received his M.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1986 and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Oregon Health Sciences University. He completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington and joined the UW faculty in 1993. Dr. Schacker has developed a translational research program focused on HIV transmission and pathogenesis. Areas of interest include factors that increase the likelihood and efficiency of HIV transmission and T cell homeostasis in HIV-1 infected persons.
