Sanjay Dholakia is responsible for strategic investing, corporate strategy, and emerging business lines at SumTotal Systems. Previously, as Senior Vice President for Marketing & Alliances at SumTotal, Dholakia was responsible for the re-branding of the company, guiding the organization’s daily activities across marketing and product management. In this role, he also led SumTotal’s strategic channels business, establishing relationships and driving revenue with key partners.
Prior to the formation of SumTotal, Sanjay Dholakia served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Docent, where he was responsible for strategic investing, new partner development, corporate strategy, marketing strategy and emerging business lines. He joined that company as Director of Corporate and Business Development in February 2001.
Prior to joining Docent, Dholakia served as Director of Business Development and acting COO for Pulse, a portfolio company within Walker Digital, a business incubation and intellectual property firm. In addition to developing the company’s marketing messages and first Fortune 500 clients, Dholakia was responsible for supporting fundraising activities and the filing of key intellectual property assets.
Before his stint at Walker Digital, Dholakia served as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and Andersen Consulting advising Fortune 500 companies from a broad range of industries on core strategic and operational issues. For clients across multiple markets, Dholakia delivered multi-million-dollar operational improvements, leading teams to analyze performance, develop business models, establish strategic partnerships and implement findings.
Dholakia holds a Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
