Sandra Terry, Executive Director of the Laurel Civic Association since 1998, has served that organization since it’s incorporation in 1989. She applied for and received 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt status for that organization which also became a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) in 1998. Through the years, Ms. Terry’s focus has been restoring and improving conditions in her local community. In 1994, the Sandra Sims Terry Community Center was dedicated to her by the Sarasota County Commission in recognition of her contributions. Ms. Terry is or has been on the boards of the Venice Foundation, the Consortium for Children and Youth, and the Sarasota County School Board Advisory Committee, among others. She has served on the Florida Housing Board since December 2000. |
