Samuel M. Williams is a senior turnaround professional with twenty years of business experience. Samuel has advised over 70 financially-troubled companies involved in turnarounds, workouts, asset sales and bankruptcies and is an expert in conducting financial analyses, developing business plans and strategies, managing clients, and maximizing stakeholder value in challenging situations.
Prior to joining Focus Management Group, Samuel was a Principal for a regional consulting firm providing financial and operational advisory services, where he was responsible for managing engagements, developing workout strategies and conducting financial analyses. One of his signature achievements there was managing a successful, Chapter 11 reorganization of a supplier in the troubled steel industry.
Samuel was also a Senior Officer for a company in a distressed turnaround situation, coordinating operational activities for five subsidiaries with 450 total employees. Samuel began his career as a Mechanical Engineer for Exxon-Mobil Corporation and has also spent several years traveling to 22 countries in Europe, Asia and the Middle East in corporate strategy and project management positions.
Samuel is a Certified Turnaround Professional and a member of the Turnaround Management Association, the Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals, the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Harvard Business School Club of Chicago. He was awarded an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated with honors from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
