Dr. Saks, a board certified medical oncologist, brings to Cougar over 25 years of experience in the clinical and academic settings. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, a publicly held specialty pharmaceuticals company that he co-founded in 2003. From 2001 until 2003, he was Company Group Chairman of ALZA Corporation, which was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2001, and served as a member of the Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Group Operating Committee. From 1992 until 2001, he held various positions with ALZA Corporation, most recently as its Chief Medical Officer and Group Vice President, where he was responsible for clinical and commercial activities.
Dr. Saks also serves on the board of directors of Trubion Pharmaceuticals, a publicly held biopharmaceutical company. He received a B.S. and an M.D. from the University of Illinois. He is board certified in oncology and a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. |
