The energy crisis over the whole world has affected our ability to get energy to supply our members with electricity at reasonable rates. Our number one priority now and over the next several years will be to manage power and its increasing costs.
Jack Hammett represents Calvert County on SMECO’s Board of Directors. Owner of Hammett’s Building Services, he is a member and secretary of the Calvert County Plumbing Commission. In addition, Hammett is a member and past president of the Calvert County Lion’s Club.
Hammett is also a past member of the Calvert County Board of Directors of the Mutual Fire Insurance Company. He is past chairman of the Calvert County Fire and Rescue Commission and past member of the Maryland State Fire Commission.
Hammett has served on the SMECO Board of Directors since 1990 and is a credentialed co-op director holding the office of Assistant Secretary-Treasurer. |
