Samuel Adcock Biography :

Samuel D. Adcock is EADS North America's Senior Vice President of Government Relations, having joined the company in September 2000.

He has almost 20 years of experience in Washington, D.C., having served in the Executive and Legislative Branches of the U.S. federal government, as well as the private sector.

Prior to 1997, Adcock was Director of Defense and Security Policy for the Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate. He also served for more than five years as Legislative Director for Senator Trent Lott (R-MS). During his tenure as Director of Defense and Security Policy, Adcock was instrumental in crafting legislative strategies for adoption of larger defense budgets, Senate consideration of the Chemical Weapons Convention and numerous legislative initiatives related to missile defense.

He moved to private industry in 1997 when he left Capitol Hill to work for Daimler-Benz as Vice President for Government and Business Relations. After the merger of Daimler-Benz and Chrysler, his responsibilities changed to focus on two primary areas: coordination of the legislative agenda for DaimlerChrysler, and facilitating government-related business development projects.

In 1997, Adcock was appointed to serve on the Long Range Air Power Panel, a Congressionally-mandated review panel to assess the nation's bomber capabilities and provide recommendations on future development activities. Additionally, he serves on various public and private boards of directors.

An alumnus of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, where he earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration, Adcock was selected to the Presidential Management Internship (PMI) program in 1987. His selection to this program resulted in the start of his federal government career with the United States Navy’s Supervisor of Shipbuilding.
