Sam Montsi was appointed to the board in 1997. From 1990 to 2001, he was executive chairman of Montsi Invstments (Pty) Limited. He is currently executive chairman of Siphumelele Investments Limited and a director of several other companies including Independent News and Media SA (Pty) Limited and the Southern Africa Fund of Alliance Capital Management LP. He is also a trustee of the Business Arts South Africa.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Botswana Lesotho and Swaziland, and a Masters in economics from Williams College in the United States.
