Ryan has significant experience providing professional services to law firms and corporations and has worked on special investigations forensic accounting assignments financial statement audits and other financial analysis matters in a wide array of industries.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron Ryan worked in the assurance and business advisory practices at both Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche. He supervised and conducted the financial statement audits of clients in various industries including both emerging growth companies and large multinational companies.
Over the past several years Ryan has spent the majority of his time assisting counsel in various matters involving shareholder lawsuits SEC and other independent investigations. These matters have principally related to accounting errors/irregularities and allegations of illegal acts. The services performed in relation to these matters have typically addressed accounting financial corporate governance or regulatory compliance aspects of the cases.

Evaluated accounting malpractice including an analysis of GAAP/GAAS matters.

Engaged by counsel and special committee to conduct independent investigation of a $25 B publicly traded financial services company to assess various corporate governance functions including assessments of the board of directors audit committee internal audit financial reporting and ethics and compliance.
Engaged by counsel to assess revenue recognition practices in defense of a Fortune 10 publicly traded technology manufacturing and services company related to a formal SEC investigation.
Engaged by a $17 B wholesale distributor to investigate and calculate the financial impact of fraudulent over-billings to numerous vendors. Engaged to visit numerous locations interview personnel and gather documentation in order to analyze and calculate potential liabilities owed to the vendors.
