Rudolf G. Schade, Jr. is one of the founding partners of Cassiday Schade LLP and has served on the Executive Committee of the firm. Mr. Schade handles the preparation and trial of civil litigation with a special emphasis in health care matters. Mr. Schade has substantial experience in all areas of litigation, including appellate argument. Mr. Schade has been recognized as one of the lawyers who was responsible for one of the ten best jury verdicts for defendants by the National Law Journal during the 1990’s. Mr. Schade is active in health care organizations and serves as a director of the following: Director of Evangelical Health Systems (EHS Health Care as of April 1993), 1972-1981, 1983-1990; Chairman, 1975-1978; Director of Advocate Health Care, 1995-2006; Director, Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council of Chicago (MCHC), 1984-1990; Director, Plymouth Place, Inc. 1984-1995; Director Emeritus, 1995-present. Mr. Schade was a member of the Council on Hospital Governance, Illinois Hospital Association, 1986-1989. He is a trustee of Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, Illinois. Mr. Schade was a Director of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, 1974-1992; President, 1992-1993; past President and Director of the Trial Lawyers Club of Chicago (Director, 1976-1979; President, 1980-1981); and a past Director of the Society of Trial Lawyers (Director, 1986-1988). He is also a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and served on the IADC Trial Academy in Boulder, Colorado in 1996. He has also participated in ABOTA’s "Masters in Trial" programs in several states. Mr. Schade is an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates and has served as president of the Illinois Chapter. He is a Fellow of The American College of Trial Lawyers and a Fellow of The International Society of Barristers. Mr. Schade has contributed a number of publications to the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He is also a periodic lecturer to various hospital groups and legal associations in general areas of hospital law and trial practice. Mr. Schade is an adjunct professor at The John Marshall Law School.
