Fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese.Started work with TEXACO in Panama in 1964 as Lubrication Engineer and Industrial Sales. Moved to REVLON OVERSEAS CORP. in early 1965 in Marketing and Sales. Named General Manager in 1968. Started Duty Free Sales for Caribbean and Latin America out of Colon Free Zone. Opened Central America Subsidiary out of Guatemala with manufacturing facility. Instituted Annual Revlon Fashion Show in Panama to kick off Fall Color statement.Transferred to Caracas Venezuela March 1973 as G.Mgr Revlon Overseas Corp. home office. Expanded manufacture. Created toiletry line around Aquamarine anti-perspirant. Initiated TV advertising.Left REVLON in March 1977 for MAX FACTOR Inc. Hollywood, CA. Named V.P Intl. in charge of Latin America (seven subsidiaries) or 23 markets. Main accomplishment was reorganizing the Brasil and Argentine companies affected by hyperinflation in both nations.Left MAX FACTOR in Oct. 1979 after company was sold to a NY Financial conglomerate now extinct.Joined Organizacion Diego Cisneros, a Venezuelan multinational conglomerate, Nov. 1979. Named G.Mgr. of Laboratorios Fisa (a health & beauty manufacturer) and KAPINA distributor for Helene Curtis Inc.At different times acted as G.Mgr. for ATLANTIS a food specialties manufacturer and distributor of Reckitt & Colman. Repositioned bankrupted plastics manufacturer of containers, pallets, bags etc. Directed Marketing for Ice Cream brands also for Wine & Spirits distributor O’Caña. Participated in task force to acquire Sears Roebuck chain in Venezuela. Task force in Madrid Spain for the acquisition of Galerías Preciado. Was named Corporate VP in charge of Consumer Goods. In this capacity I created suitable products for the Venezuelan market and directed the marketing investment of all consumer goods companies in the group.Rejoined Revlon in early 1989 as G. Mgr. Venezuela and Director Andean Region (Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela). Almost immediately became responsible for markets in CARICOM (Caribbean nations) and Central America. After receiving responsibility for Mexico in late 1992, I moved there and continued as Director Latin America North (MercoSur excepted).Resigned Nov. 1994 upon PESO devaluation known as Tequila effect.Returned to Mexico in May 1995 as a private investor. Started manufacture and distribution of private brand of toothpaste. March 1997 sold share to partners and returned to Venezuela. There I joined Grupo Mistral as VP Marketing and GM for two companies (baby products, feminine hygiene, cosmetics).Left Venezuela Oct. 2002, because of unrest from Chavez actions and returned to Panama. In May 2003 was named GMgr. Of Hipodromo Presidente Remon (horse racetrack) with the task of extricating the company from the gaming business. |
