Roy G. Krause is president and chief executive officer of Spherion Corporation (NYSE:SFN). Founded in 1946 the Fort Lauderdale Florida-based company is a leader in the North American staffing industry providing value-added staffing recruiting and workforce solutions. Krause was appointed to this position by the Board of Directors in October 2004. Krause had served at the helm of the Company as president and chief operating officer since July 2003. During that time he has led the initiative to refine the Company’s focus on the North American staffing and recruitment industry and oversaw the implementation of an enterprise-wide technology system that is designed to allow Spherion® to realize greater operating efficiencies and profitability improvements. Krause joined the organization as executive vice president and chief financial officer in 1995. Prior to joining Spherion he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for HomeBanc Mortgage Corporation and HomeBanc Federal Savings for 15 years. He was previously associated with the accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick LLP for seven years. Krause received a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University. With a keen understanding of the workforce and the issues that drive performance Krause has frequently been quoted in the business press about the findings and implications of the Spherion® Emerging Workforce® Study and the Spherion® Employment Report. The Emerging Workforce Study is the third in a series of broad-based research initiatives conducted for Spherion by Harris Interactive to provide a comprehensive look at changes in the American workforce in the context of ongoing social and economic events.
