Ronald G. Evens, Jr. is a seasoned senior healthcare executive and administrator with over 20 years of experience in a wide range of leading institutions. Ron has a proven track record in increasing patient volume, dramatically reducing expenses, improving community presence and developing new business lines within a healthcare organization.
Ron has extensive experience with a wide range of healthcare facilities, including long term acute care hospitals, imaging facilities, tertiary care centers and large medical systems. Prior to joining Focus Management Group, Ron served as the Executive Director and CEO of the Kindred Hospitals of St. Louis, long term acute care facilities, where he was responsible for the coordination of all hospital activities. In this capacity, Ron significantly increased market admissions, census capacity and EBITDARM in his first two years managing the hospital.
Ron also served as the Administrator for St. John's Mercy Medical Center, a $350MM tertiary care teaching medical center, where he had operational responsibility for surgical services, pharmacy, laboratory, medical nursing, oncology nursing, cancer center and imaging center. Ron dramatically increased surgical case volume, coordinated purchasing efforts to achieve significant cost savings, led a team that decreased outpatient denials by 22% and initiated an imaging services growth plan that increased total department volume. He also had operational responsibility as Vice President of the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, where he integrated multiple sites and programs resulting in improved customer service, operational efficiency and accessibility.
Washington University awarded Ron his Master's Degree in both Health Administration and Business Administration, as well as his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He is active member of the Missouri Hospital Association and formerly on the Board of Governors of the American Federation of Hospitals.
