Mr. Thon is owner and CEO of Thon Insurance Services, Inc., specializing in retirement, estate and business planning. He began his career in 1971 with Certified Plans, Inc. Under his leadership, CPI became the nation’s largest independent pension administrative company; while at CPI, he participated in the organization of International Central Bank and Trust which became the successor trustee of CPI’s plans.
In 1981, he founded Bankers Pension Services, Inc. (BPS) which designed and administered retirement plans for individuals, self-employed and corporate entities. While serving as Chairman of the Board and CEO, Mr. Thon negotiated the 1998 merger and subsequent acquisition of BPS by Fiserv, Inc., a publicly traded company.
