Ronald Mark Gemberling, MD, FACS, Chief Medical Officer, has been in the clinical practice of plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as surgery of the hand since 1981. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery (1979), the American Board of Plastic Surgery (1982) and has earned a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery from the American Board of Plastic Surgery (1994, Recertification 2003). He also serves as an Independent Medical Evaluator (IME) and is a lecturer for the American Cancer Society. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Stanford University; Adjunct Professor of Biological Sciences at San Jose State University; and Past President of the San Jose Surgical Society, which serves as an educational and collegial forum for many of the academic and community surgeons of Silicon Valley. After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bacteriology and medical school studies at UCLA, he received his general surgery training at the UCLA-VA Affiliated Hospitals where he finished as Chief Resident in 1978. He spent one year as a clinical research Burn Fellow at the LA County-USC Medical Center Burn Unit before entering his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan and Chief Residency at the University of Louisville.
