As a BJC senior executive officer for special projects, Dr. Evens is serving as the interim president for the Barnes-Jewish College of Nursing. The College is planning to expand into a new $45 million facility to help train greater numbers of nurses, nurse educators and health professionals. Dr. Evens also is a radiologist and professor of radiology and medical economics at Washington University.
Before his retirement in 2005, Dr. Evens served as president of Barnes-Jewish Hospital, the flagship adult teaching hospital affiliated with BJC HealthCare. It is consistently ranked among the nation's best hospitals and is affiliated with internationally renowned Washington University School of Medicine.
