Mr. Kuykendall joined Sandy Spring Bancorp as General Counsel and Secretary in January 2000. He was named Executive Vice President of the Risk Management Group in 2002. He provides executive leadership in the areas of law and corporate governance regulatory management including Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance vendor management and general insurance. Prior to Sandy Spring he was Associate General Counsel for Suntrust in Richmond Virginia. He has been a member of numerous industry panel discussions or spoken on legal issues in the financial services industry compliance issues and corporate ethics. He is admitted to practice law in Maryland and Virginia and received his J.D. degree from the University of Richmond in 1978 where he was a member of the Law Review and Moot Court Board and his B.A. with distinction from the University of Virginia in 1975. Mr. Kuykendall is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel the Association of Corporate Secretaries and Compliance Professionals and the Montgomery County and Maryland Bar Associations. |
