Roger King was appointed to Arrow Electronics' Board of Directors in 1995. He is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Sa Sa International Holdings Limited, one of the largest discount cosmetics stores in the Asia Pacific region.
King founded Oriental Data Systems Limited as part of the CY Tung Group in 1974. Following the merger of Oriental Data Systems and System-Pro Business Computer Solutions, he became the Executive Chairman of the holding company ODS System-Pro Holdings Limited, which was sold in 1996. King has held numerous executive positions within the Tung Group, with responsibilities that included manufacturing, the oil and gas industry, and distribution of high-technology products.
Earlier in his career, King served as a naval officer in the United States Navy, a researcher at Bell Laboratories, and a management consultant in the field of automation. Between 1980 and 1984, King was the Chief Executive of EuroAsia Shipyard, and from 1985 to January 1987, he held the position of Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Orient Overseas (Holdings) Limited, one of the largest container shipping companies in the world.
King holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan and a master's degree from New York University in electrical engineering and operations research. He completed the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration in 1987.
King has also served on several other boards and business and community committees. He is currently a Visiting Professor at Zhejiang University in China. |
