Roger Mitchell was named president and chief operating officer of Texas Gas Service when ONEOK acquired those distribution properties in 2003.
A native of Muskogee Oklahoma Mitchell holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and is a graduate of the University of Colorado’s Executive Development Program.
Mitchell joined Oklahoma Natural Gas Company in 1978 in the public relations department and was named manager of corporate responsibility a few years later. He also served as an area manager a district manager and manager of corporate communications before being named vice president of Oklahoma Natural Gas Company’s Eastern Region in 2001. He served in that position until he took the Texas position in January 2003.
He is a member of the American Southern and Texas Gas Associations and is active in Austin community affairs. He is serving as chairman of the board of directors for the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce for 2007. He also serves on the boards of Opportunity Austin and Caritas. He is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma and has held volunteer leadership positions with the Tulsa Area United Way Metro Tulsa Chamber of Commerce Tulsa Senior Services Ponca City Chamber of Commerce and the Will Rogers Council of the Boy Scouts. |
