Originally selected by Pittsburgh in the sixth round (181st overall) of the 2001 draft. Played his first three seasons with the Steelers before signing with New England as a restricted free agent in 2004. Missed the entire 2004 season after being placed on the reserve/injured list on August 12, 2004 due to an achilles injury. Was released by New England following the 2005 preseason and signed with Seattle on 9/14/05. Signed by the Steelers on 3/16/06, appearing in 12 games before signing a one-year contract with the Cardinals on 4/13/07.
2006: Appeared in 12 games with the Steelers, playing in his 50th game with Pittsburgh @ Jax (9/18) collected one tackle vs. Mia (9/7); vs. Cle (12/7); @ Car (12/17); vs. Bal (12/24).
2005: Cut by New England following the preseason and signed with Seattle on 9/14 inactive for the first eight games of the season saw his first action vs. StL (11/13), collecting two tackles and his first career forced fumble tied a career high with four tackles vs. NYG (11/27) recorded three tackles in the season finale @ GB (1/1).
2004: Placed on injured reserve by New England on 8/12 after suffering a season ending achilles tendon injury.
2003: Played in all 16 games for the Steelers for the third consecutive season collected his first sack of the season when he brought down QB Matt Hasselbeck for a four-yard loss @ Sea (11/12); also added one tackle recorded one tackle and his second sack of the season, taking down QB Kelly Holcombe for a 10-yard loss @ Cle (11/23).
2002: Had his best year as a pro, collecting 21 tackles and 5.5 sacks while appearing in all 16 games for Pittsburgh established a career high with 2.5 sacks @ Cin (10/13), bringing down QB Jon Kitna for losses of six, seven and nine yards; also established a career high with four tackles had an outstanding game, recording his first career fumble recovery on a botched quarterback exchange, dropping QB Tim Couch for a seven-yard sack and collecting four tackles @ Cle (11/3) recorded a sack, a tackle and a pass defensed vs. Car (12/15) totaled three tackles and one sack in the season finale vs. Bal (12/29).
2001: As a Steelers rookie, saw his first career action at Jax (9/9) and recorded one tackle recorded his first career sack in his second career game, also collecting three tackles @ Buf (9/30) recorded three tackles and one sack, which went for a 12-yard loss, in the season finale vs. Cle (1/6).
College:
Started 34 games at Ohio State, finishing his college career with 17.5 sacks was team co-captain, defensive player of the year and co-most inspirational player as a senior, registering 31 tackles, 13 tackles for losses, eight sacks and four passes defensed started six games and played in 12 as a junior, recording 23 tackles, five tackles for losses and one sack as a sophomore in 1998, recorded 16 tackles, including 10 for losses and ranked third on the team with 5.5 sacks and three passes defensed played in every game as a true freshman, including four starts, finishing the year with 19 tackles and three sacks graduated in 3½ years with a degree in communications.
