Rod Pasma is in his third season as the Vice President of Hockey Operations and his fifth season with the ECHL, having served two years as the Director of Hockey Operations. In addition to overseeing the hockey operations and officiating departments, Pasma is responsible for disciplinary issues or suspensions for on-ice incidents and enforcement of the league salary cap. He works closely with the Professional Hockey Players’ Association and handles affiliation matters with the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League as well as league and player immigration.
Pasma came to the ECHL from the Central Hockey League where he was the Director of Compliance, responsible for league discipline, salary cap and player transactions. He was Officiating Coordinator with the NHL for two seasons from 1998-2000, handling many aspects of the officiating department, including scouting, supervision and evaluation, as well as the assignment of minor league officials and trainees.
Pasma was selected in the second round (30th overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, and was selected in the first round by the Cornwall Royals in the 1989 Ontario Hockey League draft. The defenseman played three seasons in the OHL and three seasons at Laurentian University. Pasma, who received his economics degree from Laurentian, played one professional season with the Louisiana IceGators in 1995-96.
Rod and his wife, Janelle, reside in Mansfield, New Jersey with their daughters, Madison, Hayley and Kierstyn. |
