Rod Isler
Vice President and General Manager, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems
Rod Isler is vice president and general manager for the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems division at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. Integrated Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance provides end-to-end system solutions to meet the warfighter and intelligence requirements of the Department of Defense, the intelligence community, and international mission partners. Solutions include all-source intelligence analysis, concepts, requirements, system development, sustainment and operational support. Prior to his current position, Isler was vice president for the Intelligence Systems line of business, overseeing program management, multi-intelligence mission management, imagery processing, high-spec signal processing, high-performance computing, systems engineering, software development and research and development at facilities in Maryland, Virginia, California and Minnesota. Before joining General Dynamics, Isler served as the director of operations for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) within the Department of Defense. Isler also served as the associate director of the Central Intelligence for Military Support at the Central Intelligence Agency and as the associate deputy director for operations (military support) at the National Security Agency. Isler retired from the U.S. Army in 2002 after a 34-year military career with the rank of Major General. His significant assignments included Commander 501st Military Brigade and U.S. Forces Korea/J2 and deputy C2, Combined Forces Command; Assistance Chief of Staff for Intelligence in Bosnia-Herzegovina; and Chief, Modernization Support Division for the Plans and Integration Directorate, Department of Army Staff. Isler received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Shippenberg. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College.
