Robin Hibberd is Executive Vice-President, Domestic Personal Lending & Insurance, and President and CEO, Scotia Mortgage Corporation. He is responsible for the Domestic Bank’s personal lending, mortgages, credit cards and insurance, as well as credit risk management and integrated business solutions.
Since joining Scotiabank in 1987, Robin has held progressively senior positions in Domestic Personal Banking and International Banking. He was Vice-President, Consumer Credit, in the early 1990s and was based in Hong Kong beginning in 1993, serving as Senior Vice-President, Asia Pacific, from 1998 to 2006. During this latter period, Robin was responsible for Scotiabank’s activities and business units across Asia. He returned to Canada in 2006, where he assumed merger and acquisition-related responsibilities as Senior Vice-President, Corporate Development.
Robin graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in 1981. He subsequently earned an Honours degree in Business Administration (HBA) in 1983 and a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 1987, both from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. Robin is a Chartered Accountant, having obtained his designation in 1985 while at Peat Marwick.
