Roberto Irineu Marinho has been a member of our board of directors since February 2000 and has served as Chairman of the board of directors since that time. He is also the President and Chief Executive Officer of Organizacoes Globo, a conglomerate of companies in the Brazilian media and entertainment industries. Mr. Marinho began his career at the newspaper O Globo, where he served in a variety of assignments culminating in his appointment as the newspaper’s director. In 1978, Mr. Marinho was appointed Executive Vice President of Globo TV Network and in 1990 he became Executive Vice President of Organizacoes Globo. Mr. Marinho is a member of the boards of Amparo Agropecuaria S.A., Centropec-Agropecuaria do Centro-Oeste S.A., Editora Globo S.A., Globo Agropecuaria S.A. and Globo Comunicacao e Participacoes S.A He received a degree in Business Administration from Fundacao Getulio Vargas.
