Mr. Burwell, retired president of Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, has served the Board of Directors since 1984.
Mr. Burwell attended the University of Michigan where he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Before joining Pomona Valley Hospital, he was the assistant director, associate director and hospital administrator of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
Dedicated to community service, Mr. Burwell has served on the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles County Fair Association since 1982. He is past board member of the Old Baldy Council of Boy Scouts of America, Pomona Voluntary Action Center, United Way Region II and Claremont Graduate School-Corporate Round Table. He is also past board member and president of Pomona Chamber of Commerce and Padua Village Inc. In 1992, Mr. Burwell received the Pomona Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award. He is a member of the American College Healthcare Executives. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of St. Luke Lutheran Church (Claremont, California) and currently active in a Lutheran missionary outreach program. |
