Robert Drewes is the president of L-3 Communications Integrated Systems (L-3 IS), which has more than 20,000 employees worldwide and over $3 billion in annual sales. Its facilities hold world-class designations, including Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model-Integrated (CMMI) Level 3, CMM Level 5, ISO 9001 and the aerospace AS:9100 certifications. It holds Federal Aviation Administration Class 4 Unlimited Repair Station and Designated Alteration Station status at multiple facilities, as well as Part 135 Air Carrier license. Headquartered in Greenville, Texas, L-3 IS also has operations throughout the world. L-3 IS is recognized internationally as a systems integration organization specializing in the modernization and maintenance of aircraft of all sizes, and the study, design, development and integration of special-mission systems for military and commercial applications. The L-3 IS business operation’s expertise spans the design, development and integration of advanced avionics, special purpose airborne systems and aircraft modernization for government and commercial customers worldwide. Since its establishment, the company has modified more than 15,000 different aircraft of more than 125 types. Prior to his current position, Mr. Drewes was vice president of Productivity for Raytheon Company. Mr. Drewes retired from the U.S. Air Force in the rank of Major General. Mr. Drewes has held his current position since 2001. Mr. Drewes holds a master’s degree from Harvard Business School and a bachelor degree in economics from Colby College. He is also a distinguished graduate of the Air Command and Staff College as well as a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
