Robert W. Dineen heads Lincoln Financial Advisors, a full-service planning organization of approximately 2,000 planners throughout the United States and a recognized leader in providing financial and estate planning services to highly affluent individuals. Prior to joining Lincoln Financial Group, he was senior vice president and head of Merrill Lynch’s Managed Asset Group, where he was responsible for leading and directing the manufacturing and distribution of all retail and institutional separate accounts businesses. This included managing relationships with 140 asset management companies and 3,000 fund families that distribute mutual fund, separate account and alternative investments. Dineen began his financial services career at Merrill Lynch in 1982 and has served in a wide range of leadership positions in Merrill Lynch’s extensive domestic branch office system. He started as a financial advisor in New Jersey, as a member of the management development class. In 1987, Dineen was named sales manager of the Morristown, N.J., flagship office. In 1989, he was appointed a resident vice president of the Wayne, N.J., office and later became national sales manager for the entire Western sales division. In 1994, he was appointed a first vice president and district director for greater Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas. In 1998, he was named a first vice president and director of mutual funds for the investment strategy and product group, responsible for marketing proprietary and non-proprietary mutual funds to financial advisors in the United States Private Client Group. In December 1999, he became director of the New York City district and in May 2000 was appointed executive director of the Northeast regional advisory division. Dineen is on the Board of Governors for the Money Management Institute as well as being a board member for the Forum for Investor Advice. Dineen attended Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C., and received a bachelor of arts degree. |
