Robert T. DeBolt is the Controller and Supply Chain Director of the Integrated Nylon division of Solutia Inc.
Mr. DeBolt joined the Monsanto Company in 1982 as a cost accountant at the North American rubber chemicals manufacturing plant located in Nitro, West Virginia. He held positions in both Cost and General Accounting before moving to Monsanto's principle plastics manufacturing plant located in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1988. Mr. DeBolt was a cost accounting specialist and supervisor in the Plastics Division where he became involved in business redesign. In redesign, he led a project in activity based costing aimed at improving the profitability of the Plastics Division through better understanding its cost to serve.
In 1992, Mr. DeBolt relocated to the headquarters in St. Louis and moved through a variety of analytical positions at both the business and corporate level. During the mid and late 1990's he provided support as a business analyst for several of Solutia's current product lines including Vydyne Plastics, Ascend Polymer as well as the Intermediates business.
Shortly after the spin-off from Monsanto, Mr. DeBolt moved into Corporate as Financial Analysis Director for Solutia. In this role, he provided support for senior management, communications to the Board of Directors and also performed a variety of ad hoc analyses for the company. In 2000, Mr. DeBolt accepted the position of Director, Manufacturing Accounting for all of Solutia's manufacturing plants.
In 2003, Mr. DeBolt was named Controller and Supply Chain Director, Integrated Nylon Division having the responsibility for Nylon's Supply Chain including Customer Service, Purchasing and Operations Planning, in addition to the Controllership and Information Technology personnel dedicated to Nylon.
Currently as Vice President of Strategy, Mr. DeBolt has the responsibility of leading efforts to develop and implement business strategies across all of Solutia's businesses.
Mr. DeBolt is a graduate of Indiana University where he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance.
