Robert Pincus Biography :

Robert P. Pincus is Chairman of Milestone Merchant Partners, the parent company of Milestone Advisors, LLC. He is the Chair of Fidelity & Trust Bank and a Director of Fidelity & Trust Financial Corporation, located in Washington, D.C. In December 2006 Fidelity & Trust Financial Corporation announced its planned merger with Eagle Bank. Mr. Pincus has agreed to serve as Vice Chairman of Eagle Bancorporation. Mr. Pincus also presently serves as Chairman of the Board of Blackstreet Capital Management, a private equity firm located in Bethesda, Maryland. He served as Regional Chairman of the Board of BB&T, DC Metro Region and was Regional President from 1998 to 2002. Mr. Pincus began his banking career at D.C. National Bank in 1971, and in 1982 was promoted to President and CEO of D.C. National Bank and D.C. National Bancorp, Inc. which in March of 1986 became Sovran Bank/DC National. In May of 1991, he became President and CEO of Franklin National Bank of Washington, D.C. When Mr. Pincus retired from BB&T in 2002, the region had grown to over $2.5 billion in assets. Under his leadership, Franklin National Bank was named "Outstanding Business of the Year" by the D.C. Chamber of Commerce and Outstanding Business Lender in the metropolitan area by the Small Business Administration. In February, 1999, Franklin National Bank was renamed BB&T following the acquisition of Franklin by BB&T. Mr. Pincus was born and raised in the Washington area receiving his B.A. from the University of Maryland in 1968 and his M.B.A. from American University in 1971. As a Washingtonian he viewed banks not only as an institution but also as an integral part of the community. Through Mr. Pincus' efforts and those of his colleagues, over $20 million has been raised through various community activities and fundraisers to enhance housing, healthcare and educational activities for under-privileged youth in the underserved neighborhoods of the metropolitan Washington area. He has been personally recognized for his many achievements, including Washington Business Hall of Fame, Washingtonian of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year.
