Robert Gionfriddo, a resident of Los Gatos, California is Executive Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer of the Bank. Prior to joining Bridge Bank of Silicon Valley, Mr. Gionfriddo was Vice Chairman of the Board and Executive Vice President of Heritage Bank of Commerce in San Jose, California. He also was co-founder of the Bank, which opened for business in June 1994 with $14.1 million in initial capitalization, which prior to Bridge Bank's recently closed capitalization of $19 million was the largest bank capitalization in the history of Silicon Valley. Bob was responsible for the business development activities of the Bank. His areas of responsibility included the production and retention of deposits, loans and generation of fee income along with sales management and ongoing recruiting. Under his direction the respective portfolios grew at double-digit percentages annually over his six years with the Bank. Additionally, he was critical to the Bank's various denovo capital formation efforts for Heritage Bank of Commerce the lead Bank of the holding company, as well as for it's two subsidiary banks Heritage Bank East Bay and Heritage Bank South Valley.
Prior to Heritage Bank of Commerce, Mr. Gionfriddo served as Executive Vice President and Manager of the Commercial Division of Silicon Valley Bank in Santa Clara from 1990 to 1993. He was responsible for the lending and business development functions of this $300 million Division. He was also a member of the Executive Management Committee of the Bank. From 1981 to 1990, Mr. Gionfriddo was Executive Vice President and Director of Corporate Marketing at Plaza Bank of Commerce in San Jose, which in 1990 was acquired by Comerica Bank, Detroit. He also served as a member of the bank's Executive Management Committee and directed business development efforts for the bank. Early in his banking career in Santa Clara County he was Vice President and Senior Business Development Manager for the Regional Head Office of Union Bank from1976 to 1981.
Bob has been actively involved in the civic and nonprofit arena. He is a member of a number of local community groups, including Rotary and the Civic Club of San Jose. He is a member in good standing of the San Jose Country Club and has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees including the Children's Discovery Museum, American Cancer Society of Santa Clara Valley, as well as actively involving himself in fund-raising for many local charity organizations.
