Robert P. Gilmore serves as Senior Vice President, Technology for NextWave Broadband’s Advanced Technology Group. Mr. Gilmore has more than 25 years experience in engineering, communication systems design and development.
Prior to joining NextWave, Mr. Gilmore was Vice President of Engineering and a founder of VIA Telecom, where he was responsible for all engineering activities in the San Diego and China offices. Before VIA Telecom, he was Vice President, Engineering for Mobilian Corporation where he oversaw engineering activities in San Diego CA, Portland OR, and Haifa, Israel.
Mr. Gilmore served as Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering at QUALCOMM Inc., where he was responsible for the OmniTRACS production system, the Globalstar ground segment including gateways, phones, ground operation control center, and Systems Engineering, and served as Senior Vice President of Engineering for the Consumer Products Division.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Gilmore was Director of Engineering and a founder of ComStream Corporation. Prior to this he was a Staff Engineer at Linkabit Corporation. He began his career as an engineering co-op student at Bell Laboratories, where he worked both in digital radio and in satellite research. Mr. Gilmore holds BSEE and MSEE degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
