Robert O. Bond, 48, is president and chief operating officer of Southern Union’s integrated natural gas pipeline operations a position to which he was named in April 2005. Bond is responsible for directing the operations and business activities of Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line, Trunkline Gas, Sea Robin Pipeline, Southwest Gas Storage, Trunkline LNG and Florida Gas Transmission.
An industry professional, Bond has over twenty years of domestic and international experience in natural gas sales, supply, marketing, transportation, pricing, business development and contract administration. Prior to being named to his current position, he had served as senior vice president, chief commercial officer for Panhandle Energy since November 2004.
Since joining Panhandle Energy in February 2000 as executive director of commercial optimization, he has served as vice president of optimization, vice president of marketing and senior vice president of marketing.
Prior to joining the company, he served as director of business development for Sonat Marketing Company from 1998 to 2000. From 1984 to 1998, he served as managing director for El Paso Energy and Tenneco Energy.
Bond earned a bachelor of science degree in economics from Texas A&M University. He is on the board of directors of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America and is a member of the National Energy Services Association, as well as being active in numerous industry and trade association marketing events and conferences.
