Robert M. Amen is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. a position he has held since July 2006. International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. is a leading creator of flavors and fragrances used in a wide variety of consumer products and packaged goods.
Prior to joining International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. Mr. Amen had been with International Paper Company for 26 years having served most recently as its President from 2003 until his retirement in 2006. At International Paper Company Mr. Amen played a major role in developing the company’s international strategy and in transforming the company’s operations and business focus to accelerate performance.
Mr. Amen is a member of the Advisory Board of the Deming Center at Columbia University a member of the Committee to Encourage Corporate Philanthropy and serves on the Leadership Committee of the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund. He is a member of the Board of Inner City Scholarship Fund; The Cosmetic Toiletry and Fragrance Association; and serves on the Woodway Country Club Board of Governors. He is also a Knight of Malta.
Mr. Amen graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Columbia University.
