Robert K. Kieckhefer is responsible for public policy development and communications for Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) and for coordination of those activities among HCSC’s component Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans in Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. That activity includes development and approval of public policy positions, government relations, media relations and community involvement activities.
Mr. Kieckhefer serves on the board of directors of several community organizations, including the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority and the Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence.
Prior to joining HCSC, Mr. Kieckhefer was a reporter, writer, editor and news executive for United Press International for more than 28 years. In that capacity, he covered a broad range of news, specializing in government reporting.
