Bob Craft is a Senior Counsel in the Firm's Washington, D.C. office, and was the managing partner of the office from 1987 to 2006. During the course of his career, Mr. Craft has represented underwriters, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan Securities, Credit Suisse, Citigroup, UBS Securities and Merrill Lynch, on virtually all the securities offerings in the U.S. and global capital markets by the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank and on more than 750 securities offerings by Fannie Mae. He has also advised on numerous offerings by International Finance Corporation, Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF), Federal Home Loan Banks and Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Mr. Craft has guided international financial institutions on their initial entries into the U.S. capital markets. Additionally, he has advised on a wide range of securities offerings in the U.S. and international capital markets by corporate and governmental issuers. Before beginning his distinguished career as a partner at Sullivan & Cromwell, Mr. Craft served as special assistant to Carlyle E. Maw, undersecretary of state for security assistance, from 1974-1976 and as executive assistant to Roderick M. Hills, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, in 1976. In the late 1980s, Mr. Craft oversaw the design of S & C s current Washington, D.C. offices on Pennsylvania Avenue and assembled the office s entire art collection. He lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife Jamie. They have two sons: Tiger, who is associated with a hedge fund in London, and Gerard, a restaurant chef/owner in St. Louis, Missouri. Selected Transactions African Development Bank From 1982-1984, Mr. Craft guided the bank and its investment bankers in obtaining ratings of the bank s debt securities and prepared the legal structure for the offerings of its bonds in the U.S. capital markets, including the first issue of subordinated debt by a multilateral bank, in 1984. He has been the partner in charge of all the bank s subsequent securities offerings in the United States. CAF In 1994, Mr. Craft successfully counseled this Caracas-based institution in securing permission from the SEC to register its securities as if it were a foreign government. He then advised on its successful SEC public registered offering in 1995. He has since been the partner in charge of all of CAF s securities offerings in the United States, as well as its international capital market offerings. Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and Fondo Latinoamericano de Reservas (Latin American Reserve Fund or FLAR) Mr. Craft worked on the initial offerings of debt securities in the United States by these two regional multilateral financial institutions, based in Tegucigalpa and Bogotá, respectively, in 2003.
