Robert H. Brant serves as executive vice president and Northern California region manager for City National Bank. In this capacity, he leads the bank’s Commercial Banking Services and Private Banking Services teams in Northern California and is responsible for the bank’s client retention, business development and expansion efforts throughout the Bay Area. Mr. Brant also oversees City National’s Technology Banking and Wine Industry teams, and is a member of the bank’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Brant joined City National in November 1996 as executive vice president and Metropolitan Region manager, responsible for commercial banking in downtown Los Angeles, the South Bay, Orange County and San Diego. In October 1999, he assumed day-to-day responsibility for growing the bank’s presence in Northern California.
Before joining City National, Mr. Brant was with Union Bank of California for 21 years, focusing primarily on middle-market banking in the greater Los Angeles area.
Mr. Brant holds a bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, Calif., and a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Brant is a member of the Corporate Development Committee for the San Francisco Symphony, the Executive Committee of the San Francisco Center for Economic Development and serves on the Municipal Fiscal Advisory Committee to the Mayor and the Bay Area Council’s Regional Transportation Committee. He also is a member of The Society of California Pioneers, Silicon Valley Leadership Group and San Francisco Planning & Urban Research Association.
Mr. Brant and his wife reside in Mill Valley, Calif. They have two grown sons. |
