Robert H. Book is Managing Director of Double R Capital Enterprises, LLC, a private equity firm specializing in direct investments in middle market companies. In December 2003, Mr. Book co-led an investor group, through an investment vehicle, Heartland Food Corp., in acquiring 248 Burger King restaurants out of bankruptcy and in workout situations creating the second largest franchisee in the Burger King system. Heartland was successfully sold in December 2006. In March 2005, Mr. Book co-led an investor group, through an investment vehicle, CVT Prepaid Solutions, Inc., in acquiring out of bankruptcy the assets of Orion Telecommunications Corp. In October 2005, Mr. Book led an investor group in acquiring a controlling position in SMobile Systems, a leading provider of intrusion detection software for mobile communications.
Previously, Mr. Book served as the CEO of MBF USA, a NASDAQ-listed company that was the U.S. subsidiary of the multi-billion dollar, Malaysia-based MBF Group. Mr. Book has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings, restructurings, strategic planning, organizational development and direct equity investments throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and the United States.
Mr. Book currently serves as Chairman of the Board of CVT Prepaid Solutions, Inc. and a Director of SMobile Systems. Mr. Book holds a BA Degree from New York University. |
