Robert F. Lewis is Founding Partner and Managing Partner of Lewis Brosbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP, a national law firm, since 1979. He has more than 35 years of experience in the insurance defense field. Mr. Lewis’s practice has focused on litigation in the liability and insurance coverage defense areas. He was elected to the Board of Directors of Fremont General Corporation in 2002 and serves as Chairman of the Governance and Nominating Committee. He also serves on the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee of the Fremont General Board. Mr. Lewis serves on the Board of Directors and the Audit Committee of Fremont Investment & Loan, a subsidiary of Fremont General Corporation and a California chartered industrial bank.
Mr. Lewis is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, State Bar of California, International Association of Defense Counsel, Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, American Maritime Association, American Bar Association, Delegate State Bar Conference of Delegates and Chancery Club. He is a past member of the California State Bar Resolution Committee (1976-1978), Delegate to the California State Bar, Delegation Executive Committee (1975-1977) and Lawyer Delegate to the California Ninth Circuit Judicial Counsel (1990-1993 and 1999-2002).
Mr. Lewis earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Los Angeles School of Law in 1961 and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1958. |
