Robert E. Diamond is chairman of Barclays Global Investors, a member of BGI's Executive Committee, and chief executive of Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Group. He is also a member of Barclays' Executive Management Committee. Before joining Barclays in 1996, Bob was vice chairman and head of Global Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), and a member of the firm's Executive Board and Operating Committee. Prior to that role, he was chairman, president and chief executive officer of CSFB Pacific, responsible for Investment Banking, Equity, Fixed Income, and Foreign Exchange for the Pacific region. Before joining CSFB, he was managing director and head of European/Asian Fixed Income Trading for Morgan Stanley International. He joined Morgan Stanley as director of Management Information Systems, and later became assistant to the chief financial officer. Bob began his career as a lecturer at the School of Business of the University of Connecticut. He holds a BA in economics from Colby College and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the Colby College Board of Trustees and chairs its Investment Committee. |
