is part owner of a family business, Allen Marine, Inc. The business is based in Sitka, Alaska and was established in 1968. He has served as President of Allen Marine Tours since 1986, which provides whale-watching and wildlife sightseeing trips in Sitka, Ketchikan, and Juneau. He is Vice President of Allen Marine, which builds 20-100’ boats, and Vice President of Allen Marine Sales and Service, which operates retail stores in Sitka and Juneau. Combined, the three companies employee about 200 people in Southeast. Mr. Allen has a Bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He was born in Kodiak, AK and was raised in Sitka. He was elected to the Board in May 2007. |
