Dr. Robert Lindberg directs the Biotechnology Center's Business Acceleration and Technology Out-licensing Network (BATON). BATON leverages $50,000 in Technology Enhancement and Acceleration Model (TEAM) loans from the Biotechnology Center with in-kind or contributed services from certified stakeholders such as law firms, banks and accountants to accelerate the commercialization of promising technologies.
During his career at the Biotechnology Center, Lindberg has been responsible for technology assessment, due diligence and strategic planning on behalf of companies requesting loan support. Lindberg has also assisted young scientists with career planning and he has helped to craft regional and statewide economic development strategic planning.
Education:
Lindberg holds undergraduate degrees in Music (Bellarmine College) and Mathematics (University of Louisville) and a Doctorate in Physiology and Biophysics (University of Louisville).
Lindberg is a microvascular physiologist (endothelial function in inflammation, thrombosis and cancer), and held postdoctoral fellowships at UNC-Chapel Hill and the Duke University Medical Center prior to joining the Biotechnology Center in 1999. He earned his Regulatory Affairs Certification (R.A.C.) in 2005. Lindberg served as the Technical Sales Director for VWR BioSciences before returning to the Biotechnology Center.
