Mr. Davidson has been a Director of the Company since December of 2004. Mr. Davidson became President and Chief Operating Officer of Arkansas Best Corporation in January 2005 and was named President and Chief Executive Officer in February 2006.
Mr. Davidson became President and Chief Executive Officer of ABF Freight System, Inc. ("ABF"), ABC's largest subsidiary, on February 1, 2003. He continues in that position today in addition to his duties at Arkansas Best Corporation. Mr. Davidson had previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Pricing for ABF since August 1997. Mr. Davidson was Vice President of Pricing for ABF from April 1983 to August 1997.
Mr. Davidson holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Arkansas. He is a retired Captain of the U.S. Army Reserve Transportation Corps. Mr. Davidson is a past chairman and member of the Board of Directors of the National Motor Freight Traffic Association. He is also a past chairman of the National Classification Committee. He is a member of the University of Arkansas Engineering Advisory Council and is active in several other industry, civic and charitable organizations. |
