Rob has more than 13 years of restructuring experience in a broad range of industries, including retail, energy, equipment leasing, distribution, healthcare and hospitality.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron, Rob worked in the restructuring practices of AlixPartners and FTI Consulting. During this time, he served as a financial advisor and in an interim management capacity providing crisis management, turnaround and bankruptcy services to distressed and/or bankrupt companies.
Rob has provided advisory service to senior management, attorneys, lenders and other stakeholders from both the debtor and creditor perspectives. While Rob specializes in restructuring, he also has worked on numerous valuation, litigation and forensic accounting matters.
Representative examples of Rob's engagement experience include:
Worked in an interim capacity assisting a $36B discount retailer in its fast-track bankruptcy reorganization. Responsibilities included: improving cash forecasting process; monitoring liquidity on a daily basis; assisting in the preparation of creditors' committee presentations, interfacing with its professionals and analyzing issues raised by the committees; monitoring DIP compliance; preparing weekly financial reports for the vendors, factors and creditors' committees; and leading company-wide executory contract review process.
Worked as financial advisor assisting an office equipment leasing company in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This securities fraud case is considered one of the largest ponzi schemes in US history. Responsibilities included: Advising Trustee on all financial, operational and legal issues; participating in bank meetings for settlement of banks' claims; improving weekly financial reporting regarding lease portfolio performance, identifying headcount reduction opportunities; investigating leases pledged multiple times and reconstructing books and records to trace funding of various assets.
Worked as financial advisor assisting Creditors' Committees with complex financial and operational issues in the retail, electronics, production and restaurant industries. Responsibilities included: analyzing store level performance; critiquing business plans; reviewing plans of reorganization; performing liquidation analysis and communicating findings to the Committee.
Worked as financial advisor to a Middle Eastern government regarding war reparations claims related to the Persian Gulf conflict. Responsibilities included: identifying and determining the extent of the damage claims; preparing financial reports on each loss component and submitting claims to the UN in excess of $1B for several different government ministries.
